About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain and support a production application built with Java Spring Boot, React, and PostgreSQL
Operate a containerized application using AWS ECS/Fargate
Manage application defects, security patches, and production releases while maintaining system reliability
Support API Gateway synchronization with a Pega-based status tracking system
Implement application-side integrations with the modernization platform, including identity-provider trust, deep linking, redeem endpoints, and feed access
Maintain operational runbooks and application sustainment baselines
Participate in the Severity 1 on-call rotation for critical production incidents
Identify and remediate security findings to maintain compliance and operational readiness
Work in two-week development sprints and participate in a customer demonstration each sprint
Work on a mission-critical application modernization program for a Department of War customer, creating a unified platform with single sign-on, shared user interface, and standardized application integration

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of experience in enterprise Java development using Spring Boot
Strong experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, and RESTful APIs
Experience operating and supporting production applications in cloud environments
Familiarity with formal change management processes and privileged-access security controls
Experience with React preferred
Experience with AWS ECS/Fargate and AWS GovCloud preferred
Experience integrating applications with Pega preferred
Current favorably adjudicated Tier 5 investigation or active Top Secret clearance preferred
U.S. citizenship required
Must hold a current favorably adjudicated Tier 5 investigation or Top Secret clearance, or be eligible to obtain one
Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with core hours from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern
