About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct outbound prospecting within assigned territories, industries, and target accounts using industry databases, conference lists, and other sales tools
  • Engage prospective customers through telephone, email, LinkedIn, virtual meetings, and other outreach methods
  • Respond to and qualify inbound leads from the company website, webinars, campaigns, referrals, conferences, and other sources
  • Research target accounts, key contacts, applications, current software tools, technical challenges, project timing, and potential business needs
  • Qualify prospects and schedule discovery meetings, technical discussions, demonstrations, and follow-up meetings for Sales Managers and Applications Engineering personnel
  • Support territory plans, target-account strategies, prospecting campaigns, pipeline-development goals, and account-expansion initiatives
  • Maintain consistent follow-up and nurture prospects not yet ready for direct Sales Manager engagement
  • Identify and engage customers and prospects attending conferences, trade shows, workshops, and industry events, including pre-event meeting scheduling and post-event follow-up
  • Maintain accurate and timely prospect, company, activity, and opportunity information in CRM
  • Provide reporting on meetings, lead conversion, opportunities, and pipeline generated
  • Develop a working understanding of CAE and CAM software solutions, customer applications, turbomachinery markets, and the competitive landscape
  • Participate in product training, sales meetings, opportunity reviews, customer discussions, demonstrations, and industry education
  • Gather and communicate prospect feedback, competitive information, market trends, and emerging customer requirements to internal teams
  • Progressively assume greater responsibility for discovery discussions, customer meetings, account development, and selected opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, science, communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • One to three years of experience in sales development, business development, inside sales, marketing, customer service, technical support, or another customer-facing role preferred
  • Experience with engineering software, industrial technology, manufacturing technology, SaaS, or other technical products is a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable initiating professional conversations by telephone, email, LinkedIn, video conference, and in person
  • Strong research, organizational, follow-up, and time-management skills
  • Persistent, professional, detail-oriented, self-motivated, coachable, and able to manage multiple accounts and activities
  • Experience with CRM preferred
  • Experience with sales tools or account-research tools preferred
  • Strong interest in developing a career in technology or engineering-software sales
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, technically oriented global organization
  • Ability to travel periodically for conferences, customer meetings, training, and company events
  • Technical education or experience related to engineering, manufacturing, CAE, CAD, CAM, CFD, or turbomachinery is a plus
