About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform clerical and data management functions supporting new patient registration and welcoming responsibilities
- Preload charts and coordinate medical records
- Schedule appointments and perform patient care coordinator duties
- Greet and service new patient calls seeking a provider and establishing care
- Interview and screen new patients for a convenient CHMG practice location and timely access based on medical needs
- Coordinate medical records in new patient charts and liaise with HIMS to ensure accurate medical information
- Foster critical thinking and provide a warm welcome to new patient inquiries and requests
- Coordinate multiple aspects of scheduling appointments with appropriate providers
- Support a patient-centered medical home and a culture of “yes”
- Perform other Patient Care Coordinator responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School degree or General Educational Development equivalency required
- Must pass annual registration competency exam
- Knowledge of medical office operations, including scheduling, registration, electronic medical records, patient flow, billing, coding, charge capture, referrals, authorizations, payor guidelines, compliance, credentials, privileges, regulatory agencies, and DNV standards
- Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
- Computer proficiency in EMR, Registrations software, Microsoft Office and other practice-based applications
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to problem solve
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skill set
- Certification, registration, and licensure: none required
- Ability to perform the listed physical requirements, including lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, fine motor work, repetitive motion, hearing, reaching, sitting, speaking, bending, walking, kneeling, squatting, and standing
- Ability to meet the specified vision requirements
- Ability to work with occasional exposure to airborne pathogens
