About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for simple to complex patients with multi-system issues
- Use growth and development principles across the life span to assess patient status and age-specific needs
- Build caring relationships with patients, families, and significant others
- Collaborate with healthcare workers and lead the healthcare team
- Apply purposeful, organized thinking to make clinical judgments and decisions
- Gather and interpret history and physical-assessment data
- Develop, evaluate, and revise patient care plans and nursing actions
- Document care and patient progress toward desired outcomes
- Direct and supervise delegated nursing activities
- Teach patients and significant others about the plan of care and prepare them for post-discharge, transfer, or procedures/tests
- Manage time and resources to deliver patient care
- Administer medications
- Provide direct patient care
- Serve as a resource person for the assigned shift
- Serve as a preceptor for new employees
- Perform job-specific requirements and other assigned duties
- Report to the Director and/or Nurse Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing
- Registered Nurse - New Hampshire Board of Nursing
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- Refer to the department-specific certification policy for mandatory nursing certifications
- One year prior clinical nursing experience
- Evidence of working effectively and positively with patients, care providers, and the multi-disciplinary team
- Evidence of ability to perform as a member of a team
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for population-specific patients
- Ability to perform nursing and medical interventions safely
- Ability to supervise Licensed Nursing Assistants and unlicensed personnel as needed
- Ability to meet the stated physical, lifting, vision, and work-environment requirements
