About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build lifecycle services for provisioning, updating, repairing, and retiring customer products
  • Reconcile observed state against desired state
  • Design schema-driven, product-agnostic control-plane systems
  • Build usage and consumption reporting paths for billing systems
  • Develop internal admin tooling and services for platform operations
  • Own lifecycle, usage-reporting, and schema-contract interfaces, including versioning and migration
  • Integrate third-party billing and partner systems
  • Drive cross-functional coordination across shared integrations
  • Improve tooling and processes for platform maintainability and reliability
  • Participate in the oncall rotation for control-plane services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years building and operating production backend systems
  • Systems breadth across several interacting systems
  • Experience designing APIs and contracts with versioning, backward compatibility, and deprecation
  • Comfort with asynchronous and event-driven systems, idempotency, retries, partial failure, and eventual consistency
  • Experience debugging complex issues across networking, performance, and data integrity
  • Understanding of security boundaries
  • Self-directed and able to drive loosely defined problems to completion
  • Ability to become productive quickly in an unfamiliar language
  • Production Go experience preferred
  • Experience with reconciliation or controller-pattern systems preferred
  • Experience with schema- or config-as-data systems preferred
  • Experience with metering or usage reporting preferred
  • Experience building internal tools for expert operators preferred
  • Crypto/web3 background is not required
