About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, enhance, and maintain Conexa AI’s core services, focusing on accuracy, scalability, security, and observability
Design and implement generative and agentic AI features in production, including agents, RAG pipelines, workflows, LLM integrations, and integrations with external tools via MCPs
Build and evolve multi-stack distributed systems with Node.js, Python, and Java, including RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and streaming pipelines
Integrate microservices, legacy systems, and AI platforms, ensuring consistency, resilience, and traceability
Work with message queues and event-driven architectures using RabbitMQ and BullMQ
Model, optimize, and maintain relational, non-relational, and vector databases, including embeddings, caching, and eventual consistency
Contribute to the front end in React/TypeScript as needed
Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues in multi-tenant production environments, including non-deterministic behavior in LLM-based systems
Ensure code quality through automated testing, agent quality evaluations (evals), and sound engineering practices
Identify and propose new applications for generative and agentic AI across the Conexa ecosystem
Rapidly prototype AI feature hypotheses through spikes and POCs, validating technical feasibility and business value
Participate in defining where and how AI will be applied to the team’s roadmap
Bring state-of-the-art AI knowledge and assess pragmatic adoption opportunities
Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, Data, and AI teams on integrated delivery and idea prioritization
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the team’s technical and strategic evolution

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience with Node.js and NestJS, with advanced proficiency in strict TypeScript and microservices architectures
Strong experience with Java and Spring (Boot, Data, Security)
Experience with Python (FastAPI or equivalent) applied to service and API development, especially in generative AI
Hands-on experience building AI agents, RAG pipelines, and LLM integrations in production
Familiarity with workflow orchestration and automation tools such as n8n or equivalent platforms
Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), including modeling, complex queries, and performance tuning
Experience with non-relational databases (MongoDB, Redis) and event-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, BullMQ)
Familiarity with vector databases and the principles of embeddings and semantic search
Experience designing and versioning RESTful APIs and WebSockets
Ability to read and enhance front-end code in React/TypeScript when needed
Advanced, regular use of agentic AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Copilot, including MCP customization
Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and multidisciplinary squads
Analytical, proactive profile with a strong sense of ownership
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical and product decisions in highly ambiguous environments
Skills that set you apart: leading AI initiatives from the ground up, observability applied to AI systems, AWS and cloud architecture, experience in digital health/healthtech or regulated domains, and up-to-date interest in generative and agentic AI
