About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, enhance, and maintain Conexa AI’s core services, focusing on accuracy, scalability, security, and observability
Design and implement generative and agentic AI features in production, including agents, RAG pipelines, workflow orchestration, LLM integrations, and integrations with external tools via MCPs
Build and evolve multi-stack distributed systems using Node.js, Python, and Java, including RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and streaming pipelines
Integrate microservices, legacy systems, and AI platforms, ensuring consistency, resilience, and traceability
Work with message queues and event-driven architectures for asynchronous processing and orchestration of conversational and agentic workflows
Model, optimize, and maintain relational, non-relational, and vector databases, including embeddings, caching, and eventual consistency
Contribute occasionally to the product front end using React/TypeScript
Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues in multi-tenant production environments, including non-deterministic behavior in LLM-based systems
Ensure code quality through automated testing, agent quality evaluations (evals), and software engineering best practices
Identify and propose new applications of generative and agentic AI within the Conexa ecosystem
Rapidly prototype AI feature hypotheses, validating technical feasibility and business value
Participate in defining where and how AI should be applied to the team’s roadmap
Bring state-of-the-art AI knowledge and assess pragmatic adoption opportunities
Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, Data, and AI teams on integrated delivery and idea prioritization
Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to the team’s technical and strategic evolution

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience with Node.js and NestJS, strict TypeScript, and microservices architectures
Experience with Python (FastAPI or equivalent) applied to service and API development, especially in generative AI
Hands-on experience building AI agents, RAG pipelines, and LLM integrations in production
Familiarity with workflow orchestration and automation tools such as n8n or equivalent platforms
Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), including data modeling, complex queries, and performance tuning
Experience with non-relational databases (MongoDB, Redis) and event-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, BullMQ)
Familiarity with vector databases and the principles of embeddings and semantic search
Experience designing and versioning RESTful APIs and WebSockets
Ability to read and enhance front-end code in React/TypeScript
Regular, advanced use of agentic AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Copilot, including environment customization with MCPs
Experience working with Scrum, Kanban, and multidisciplinary squads
Analytical, proactive, and highly accountable, with a strong sense of ownership
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical and product decisions in highly ambiguous environments
Previous experience driving AI initiatives from the ground up is a plus
Experience with observability for AI systems is a plus
Experience with AWS and cloud architecture is a plus
Experience in digital health, healthtech, or regulated domains is a plus
Active, up-to-date interest in generative and agentic AI research and developments is a plus
