About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue analysis and reporting across hospital and specialty group departments
  • Ensure revenue recognition for CCMC and CCSG through month-end close complies with contracted terms
  • Analyze payer, physician, and patient payment information against contracts, reimbursement schedules, regulations, and policies
  • Identify and investigate revenue variances; prepare written analyses and present findings to leadership
  • Monitor payer contract performance and identify revenue optimization or recovery opportunities
  • Support annual revenue budgeting, revenue forecasting, and new business scenario modeling
  • Support reimbursement analysis and regulatory compliance monitoring
  • Coordinate CMS Annual Cost Report, Connecticut Hospital Association Surveys, Children’s Hospital Association Surveys, DSH Survey, OHS filings, and CHGME grant reporting
  • Direct preparation of DSH audit and other audit support materials
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external auditors on audit inquiries
  • Develop relationships across Finance, Revenue Cycle, Financial Operations, Financial Reporting, and Contract Management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
  • 5 years’ experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle or Healthcare Finance departments
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding, and medical terminology
  • Knowledge of insurance regulations and reimbursement policies, including managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid
  • Knowledge of generally accepted revenue recognition standards specific to the hospital industry
  • Knowledge of State and Federal reporting requirements applicable to healthcare finance
  • Knowledge of CMS cost report methodology and DSH program requirements
  • Knowledge of healthcare financial management principles, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis, variance reporting, and revenue reconciliation
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements, payer contracts, and internal policies
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision
  • Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality of financial and patient-related information
