About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare and perform EEG procedures according to EEG Lab guidelines
  • Serve as the clinical and technical expert for the EEG Lab
  • Oversee EEG Lab logs
  • Train and provide educational oversight for EEG Lab staff
  • Develop competencies, validations, and quality assurance tools with the Medical Director and management
  • Represent the EEG Lab as Safety Coach and attend Employee Safety Committee meetings
  • Conduct clinical investigations and safety/environmental rounds and report results to the Quality Improvement department
  • Assist management with operational analytics, supplies, and equipment procurement
  • Coordinate accreditation and reaccreditation efforts
  • Troubleshoot EEG equipment and support computer-related needs
  • Review orders and collaborate with the Medical Director and clinicians to ensure appropriate examinations
  • Assist with staffing grids and ongoing adjustments
  • Manage staff and patient schedules to maintain appropriate staffing ratios and coverage
  • Coordinate clinical components of outpatient, urgent, and inpatient requests
  • Oversee orientation, in-services, and educational offerings for Neurodiagnostic Technologists I-IV
  • Maintain ongoing clipping and pruning
  • Review and evaluate EEG studies and provide direct educational feedback
  • Provide on-call coverage
  • Provide clinical performance feedback and observational reviews to the Department Manager
  • Coordinate and resolve clinical pre-testing requirements
  • Adjust patient schedules and workload as needed
  • Establish clinical performance improvement initiatives and metrics
  • Manage Neurodiagnostic safety events and represent management in Safety Huddles
  • Conduct staff check-ins to address educational and operational needs
  • Perform Neurodiagnostic Technologist I-IV duties when needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree preferred
  • 5 to 7 years of clinical EEG experience preferred
  • Registered EEG Technologist
  • Certified by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists and compliant with all certification requirements
  • Certification Examination in Long Term Monitoring (CLTM) certificate, or obtain the CLTM certificate within 3 years of employment
  • Maintain current CPR or BLS Healthcare certification
  • Knowledge of hospital and EEG lab policies and procedures
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Customer service skills
  • Critical thinking and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Presentation skills
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills
  • Written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
