About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Architect, build, optimize, and maintain high-performance Python applications deployed across Google Cloud Platform
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain resilient Python applications using Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Functions, and Compute Engine
  • Build scalable microservices and event-driven solutions using Cloud Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks, and Eventarc
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs with FastAPI and gRPC services, including authentication, versioning, and performance optimization
  • Write clean, maintainable, modular Python code following PEP 8 and static typing practices
  • Participate in technical design sessions, sprint planning, code reviews, and architecture discussions
  • Develop and maintain Terraform Infrastructure as Code solutions
  • Configure and support CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, Cloud Deploy, and GitHub Actions
  • Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting using Google Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Cloud Trace
  • Support enterprise data platforms including BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Firestore, Cloud Spanner, and Cloud Storage
  • Implement secure cloud architecture practices through IAM, workload identity federation, and least-privilege access controls
  • Use Claude Code and AI coding assistants for development, refactoring, testing, and documentation
  • Design prompts and workflows that produce reliable, scalable, production-ready code
  • Review and validate AI-generated output for quality, maintainability, and security
  • Generate automated testing frameworks, OpenAPI documentation, and developer resources using AI-assisted tools
  • Support adoption of AI-enabled software development lifecycle best practices
  • Conduct application security assessments using Bandit, Semgrep, Snyk, and SonarQube
  • Implement OWASP-aligned secure coding standards, input validation, and secure API development practices
  • Manage secrets and credentials through Google Secret Manager and Cloud KMS
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards and regulatory requirements including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA when required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with professional fluency in speaking, reading, and writing both languages
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3–5 years of professional software development experience building enterprise applications
  • Strong proficiency with Python 3.10+ and FastAPI
  • Experience with asynchronous programming, object-oriented design principles, and API development
  • Experience designing and deploying containerized applications in Google Cloud Platform environments
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Firestore, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Storage
  • Experience developing Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform
  • Experience implementing automated testing frameworks with pytest, unittest, or similar tools
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor
  • Preferred: Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Developer certification
  • Preferred: Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification
  • Preferred: Experience integrating Workday, Salesforce, Deltek Vantagepoint, or Ironclad
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Vertex AI, Document AI, Gemini APIs, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or other AI/ML development frameworks
  • Preferred: Experience with container security, Binary Authorization, Kubernetes security controls, and runtime monitoring solutions
  • Preferred: Contributions to open-source projects, Python packages, or cloud-native development tools
  • Preferred: Strong understanding of secure software development practices and application security principles
