About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical and functional application production support for Wealth Management IT Data Platform applications and tools
  • Contribute to service stability, availability, operational efficiency and continuous improvement in a banking environment
  • Build and maintain Ansible playbooks and Terraform scripts for infrastructure provisioning, configuration and deployments
  • Contribute to technical application integration using existing products and services
  • Implement and improve monitoring of technical and functional application components
  • Participate in automation, performance analysis and operational optimisation initiatives
  • Support application changes and validate knowledge transfer sessions with development teams
  • Handle incidents, service requests and application support activities, including L1/L2 support where applicable
  • Analyse system, middleware and application logs and troubleshoot incidents
  • Ensure smooth operation of workflows, batch processes, data transfers and other operational processes
  • Monitor service performance, availability and compliance with Service Level Objectives
  • Manage application releases and functional change requests
  • Provide user support and restore service within expected timeframes
  • Maintain application support documentation, knowledge articles and operating procedures
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery and live-play activities
  • Work in a 24/7 production support team with shifts, on-call rotations, weekends and public holidays
  • Escalate operational risks, incidents and management issues to the divisional lead
  • Contribute to production-readiness checks, risk mitigation, service reporting and continuous improvement
  • Assist and train operations team members on Ansible, Docker and Kubernetes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or an equivalent field
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT Operations or Software Engineering
  • Experience in application production support within a banking environment, with a strong understanding of core banking operations
  • Experience in IT Operations and production/infrastructure requirements
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with a public cloud provider: IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Ansible and Docker
  • Experience in troubleshooting incidents and supporting applications in production
  • Ability to analyse technical issues across system, middleware and application layers
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 support environment, including shifts and on-call rotations
  • Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, command-line interface (CLI) and shell scripting
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language, preferably Python and/or Bash
  • Experience building and maintaining Ansible and Terraform automation scripts and playbooks
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
  • Experience with Dynatrace
  • Experience with PL/SQL
  • Good understanding of CI tools such as Jenkins, Travis CI or Concourse
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices
  • Knowledge of incident management, service monitoring, log analysis, release management and service improvement
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Automation with Ansible (RH294) certification
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certification
  • Developing Advanced Automation with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (DO374) certification
  • Fluent English
