About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive sales performance by managing sales, retail execution, operations, and key wholesaler relationships in an assigned geographic area.
  • Partner with an area General Manager to set priorities and execute the business plan for a high-priority sales territory.
  • Manage and direct a group of Wholesalers, including execution of Constellation’s Retail Vision and Wholesaler Standards and Practices.
  • Direct and implement training and development initiatives for Wholesalers.
  • Supervise and monitor allocation and use of point-of-sale materials according to budgets and account/market objectives.
  • Support National and key Regional On-Premise accounts, including program execution and closing mandated distribution gaps.
  • Develop sales plans and goals for volume, distribution, and seasonal applications.
  • Conduct annual planning meetings and monthly business reviews with Wholesaler management.
  • Identify market-specific business development opportunities to grow Constellation share.
  • Complete ABP/Trimester planning with the area GM and key Wholesalers.
  • Develop Trimester plans, volume/distribution goals, programming, CTF, and Wholesaler Tactical expenditure levels.
  • Identify market pricing opportunities, make recommendations, communicate approved price changes, and ensure target PTR/PTCs are executed.
  • Evaluate new-product market-level pricing and determine the go-forward approach.
  • Develop CTF investment strategies and annual business plans; communicate plans and monitor budget compliance.
  • Execute new product rollout plans with Key Account, National Account, and Wholesaler teams.
  • Identify Wholesaler performance gaps, recommend corrective actions, and develop tactics and resource plans for volume-driving initiatives.
  • Gain Wholesaler commitment and ensure cooperation throughout initiative execution.
  • Ensure adequate product inventory levels and proper inventory rotation.
  • Prioritize supply-chain issues involving code dates and aging inventory and recommend actions to the GM.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience in the CPG business.
  • Minimum of 3 years of consumer product sales and sales management experience.
  • Computer literacy with the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel at advanced level, PowerPoint, and e-mail programs such as IBM Lotus Notes.
  • Ability to utilize Business Information reporting tools such as Cognos 7/8 and sales reporting tools such as Retail Vision.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 30% of working time (15% for Emerging Distributor MDM), including ability to drive up to 5 hours.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be proactive in identifying customer issues, recommending solutions and executing effectively.
  • Proven track record in building effective relationships with customers and internal associates.
  • Demonstrated diligence and ability to follow through on commitments.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve performance goals with minimum direction and supervision.
  • Demonstrated solid analytical and math skills.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Must be able to move up to 55 lbs.
  • Must be able to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to climb or balance stairs/ladders.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.
  • Must have close vision, distant vision, ability to adjust focus, and peripheral vision.
