About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute and coordinate recurring operational trade compliance routines
- Track open actions, due dates, owners, aging items, and closure documentation
- Coordinate meeting materials for operating reviews, controls checkpoints, and audit readiness
- Support issue triage by gathering facts, documenting problem statements, and routing items to process owners
- Build and maintain service, quality, inventory, claims, access review, and controls evidence reports and trackers
- Validate data completeness, flag anomalies, and coordinate corrections
- Compile KPI and controls reporting packs with consistent formatting, definitions, and version control
- Maintain SOPs, narratives, job aids, RACI/hand-offs, checklists, and other process documentation
- Support training deployment by preparing materials, tracking completion, and organizing refresher sessions
- Coordinate requests and follow-ups across Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Internal Audit, IT Security, and third-party partners
- Support import and export compliance activities with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Review import/export transaction documentation for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate responses to customs brokers, government agencies, and internal stakeholders regarding shipment documentation and clearance issues
- Support preparation and maintenance of documentation required by Customs, FDA, TTB, USDA, and other applicable agencies
- Support customs entry audits covering country of origin, tariff classification, valuation, duty calculations, and supporting documentation
- Support broker governance through KPI tracking, issue management, compliance reviews, and performance reporting
- Maintain import/export records and audit-ready compliance documentation
- Support internal and external trade compliance audits, assessments, government reviews, controls testing, and remediation tracking
- Support C-TPAT and transportation security activities
- Assist with duty drawback, free trade agreements, and other customs-related initiatives
- Develop trade compliance metrics, dashboards, reports, and action trackers
- Research and analyze trade regulations and their application to business processes
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and automation
- Update SOPs, job aids, procedural documentation, and training materials for process and regulatory changes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in trade compliance, customs brokerage, international logistics, import/export operations, internal controls, or a related compliance function
- Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, transportation providers, suppliers, and cross-functional business partners
- Strong attention to detail with ability to organize evidence, maintain trackers, and meet deadlines
- Proficient in spreadsheets and basic data analysis
- Comfortable working with reports extracted from ERP/WMS/Shipment Visibility TMS tools
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow established procedures and escalate issues appropriately
- Experience coordinating audits and/or internal controls testing and evidence management
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and international trade compliance requirements
- Experience with C-TPAT, drawback, or more specialized trade programs
- Familiarity with tariff classification, country of origin determination, valuation, duty management, or import/export documentation
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified Export Specialist (CES), or similar certification preferred
- Working knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes and common system transactions
- Experience coordinating access reviews and/or segregation of duties activities for business applications
- Ability to sit/stand for extended periods and work on a computer
- Occasional lifting may be required
- Field/onsite visits, warehouse/transportation facility walk-throughs, or audit support may be required
