About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Controller with day-to-day accounting operations in compliance with GAAP
- Oversee the accounts receivable function, including recording and collecting customer invoices
- Ensure accurate and prompt processing and payment of receivables
- Interact with different departments and outside participants
- Supervise accounts receivable staff
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Analyze financial information and prepare internal financial reports
- Participate significantly in month-end close
- Assist with audit preparation
- Complete timely financial, tax, and compliance report filings
- Lead special projects related to systems integration
- Develop and document department procedures and internal controls
- Improve internal accounting processes
- Collaborate with finance and other department staff to strengthen the organization’s financial health
- Ensure billings and receivables are processed correctly and on time
- Lead and direct employees, including hiring, training, performance management, and terminations
- Oversee daily accounts receivable workflow
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 6+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or another related field required
- Experience working in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is optimal but not required
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and banking
- Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting
- Proven experience in financial project management
- Experience handling internal and external audits
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Moderately proficient in other MS Office applications
- Strong interest in process improvement
- Ability to explain financial issues and concepts in non-technical, concise terms
- Commitment to Contexture’s mission and strategic direction
- Ability to work on tight deadlines with strong organization and priority-setting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to periodically drive to and from clients, conferences, and/or events
- Ability to handle sensitive information and comply with applicable laws, regulations, organizational policies, and compliance expectations
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods
- Continuous use of computers and office equipment
- Frequent handling of materials up to 10 lbs; occasional handling up to 30 lbs
