About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage all Contexture business intelligence development, implementation, and maintenance
Provide architectural direction and administrative support for daily Business Intelligence team operations
Lead Senior Data Visualization Analysts and Data Visualization Analysts
Design projects for Contexture’s reporting visualization platform
Plan, coordinate, manage, and implement business intelligence, visualization, and analytics activities for internal and external customers
Coordinate with Contexture departments to deliver HIE/HIT reporting products on time, error-free, and to organizational and customer service expectations
Oversee delivery of rapid, actionable insights across business units
Support and implement strategic business plans and processes for Contexture’s BI programs
Supervise assigned staff, maintain staffing levels, lead recruitment efforts, and create onboarding plans
Mentor, coach, and provide educational activities for employee development
Review and implement policies and procedures supporting data, visualization, and BI use-case development methodologies
Prioritize team goals and tactics in line with organizational objectives and customer commitments
Track project variables and distribute project information to direct reports
Assess and escalate project risks and participate in mitigation plans
Manage implementation projects through timely close and client transition
Maintain proactive communications with internal and external customers during implementation
Design and develop business intelligence standards across multiple data projects
Design and consult on underlying data architecture for BI projects
Evaluate and test emerging business intelligence and data visualization technologies
Use standard vocabularies and nomenclatures with the data governance team to normalize inbound and outbound data
Monitor and maintain data visualization tool performance for reliable reporting
Support continuous process improvement of Contexture’s data business intelligence programs
Maintain and broaden knowledge of BI tools, data access applications, and industry best practices
Contribute to an inclusive and appreciative organizational culture

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the design, development, maintenance, and support of health system performance measurement structures, including process, outcome, value-based payment, and patient experience metrics development and uses
Bachelor’s Degree required in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Experience in leading and managing cross-functional technical and user-based teams desired
Prior leadership experience delivering business intelligence, including data visualizations and leading data structure and report development efforts
Ability to explain complex data concepts to internal and external stakeholders
Experience leading cross-functional teams on complex issues
Knowledge of healthcare informatics and applications across the full continuum of care
Extensive knowledge of transforming data into useful information for performance evaluation, standardization, and quality of system performance
Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining healthcare data evaluation systems
Advanced experience with Tableau, PowerBI, SAP Business Objects, and QlikView
Experience with relational and/or hierarchical big data databases, including Mongo/SQL
Working knowledge of HL7, C-CDA, XCA, and XDS.b standards and protocols
Working knowledge of healthcare clinical code sets such as LOINC, SNOMED, CPT, ICD, and RxNorm
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and allocated resources
Ability to develop, test, and operationalize business intelligence projects
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Project, and Visio, preferred
Ability to periodically drive to clients, conferences, and/or events; limited travel may be required
Ability to handle sensitive information, including PHI, PII, and financial information, in compliance with applicable laws and policies
