About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Enhance business understanding using modern visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI through concise data storytelling
  • Develop healthcare data analysis visualizations and support data linkages to those visualizations
  • Compile information from large datasets across healthcare systems and applications
  • Present data and analysis clearly to support data-driven decisions
  • Collaborate with partners to provide analysis, standard reporting packages, queries, and ad-hoc reporting
  • Independently perform analysis for stakeholder projects and recommend solutions to partners and senior leadership
  • Collaborate with department leads and partner departments to document business requirements and implement reporting
  • Lead visualization subject-matter-expert efforts and provide direction to other analysts
  • Help lead data normalization and mapping process improvements within the HIE
  • Identify, document, and report design, reliability, and maintenance issues
  • Promote continual service improvement and efficient use of HIE data
  • Provide proactive technical support, monitoring, and procedural/status updates in complex customer environments
  • Drive and document analytics standards and best practices
  • Develop and present customized findings to senior leadership
  • Mentor and train members of the data visualization team
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 3–5+ years of statistics or analytics experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Applied Mathematics required
  • Advanced knowledge of analytics and statistical software such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, and others
  • Experience in analytics, advanced analytics/statistics, and predictive modeling
  • Hands-on experience with healthcare data code sets and terminologies
  • Experience driving at least one major BI application implementation for an organization larger than 500 users
  • Demonstrated experience with relational and/or hierarchical big data databases such as Mongo and SQL
  • Experience working with HL7, LOINC, SNOMED, ICD, RxNorm, or similar healthcare data transmission and normalization modalities
  • Knowledge of medical claims data formats like CCLS, 835, 834, etc.
  • Proficiency in solution design and requirements definition disciplines, including conceptual solution component models, business process models, and use cases
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills
  • Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure successful completion
  • Proficiency with technology needed for remote and office work, including email, video calls, and Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to periodically drive to and from clients, conferences, and/or events; and/or limited travel
  • Compliance with laws, regulations, organizational policies, and compliance expectations when handling sensitive information such as PHI, PII, and financial information
