About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and build interfaces to Contexture participant EHR applications
- Ensure system integrity, compatibility, standardization, and security of interfaces
- Design interfaces, including data mapping, translation, transformation specifications, and architecture
- Develop interfaces for varied platforms and applications
- Analyze interface specifications, standards, HL7 messages, and CCDA documents
- Collect, retain, and normalize meaningful participant data
- Troubleshoot and manage technical issues through Data Analysis, Build, QA, UAT, and post-production support
- Identify and negotiate solutions with participants and vendors to remediate interface and clinical-data gaps
- Serve as the main technical contact and drive complex issues to resolution
- Create and maintain technical solution, interface specification, and implementation-guide documentation
- Develop repeatable implementation plans and propose standard changes to the Change Advisory Board
- Implement system changes and support participant upgrades affecting the HIE
- Test and validate interfaces and tools; recommend improvements
- Assess vendor technical capabilities and integration readiness
- Serve as a subject matter expert for vendor and Contexture platforms
- Execute test plans and deployment plans in Stage and Production environments
- Collaborate with Implementation, Application, Development, Support, platform engineering, and architecture teams
- Develop and improve internal custom tools and solutions
- Implement Object Identifiers and branching methodologies
- Provide technical feedback through design reviews and collaborative problem-solving
- Manage competing projects and initiatives while making timely decisions
- Provide operational backup support to the Integration Team
- Support after-hours patching, deployments, changes, or major incident response as needed
- Design and build clinical data sets and testing scripts
- Assist end users with controls ensuring mission-critical interfaces pass data accurately
- Coordinate efficiency between test and production environments
- Identify improvements promoting efficiency and automation
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in information technology, systems integration, healthcare technology, interoperability, interface development, or a related technical field
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Health Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, professional certifications, and relevant experience
- Equivalent directly related work experience, demonstrated competencies, relevant certifications, and/or required skills may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare interoperability, systems integration, interface development, transformations, or related technical disciplines
- Proven technical expertise in healthcare information systems, interface development, and interoperability technologies
- Proven ability to independently deliver interface development, data integration, and interoperability initiatives involving EHRs, HIEs, clinical systems, and healthcare technology platforms
- Experience with HL7, C-CDA, FHIR, LOINC, and SNOMED
- Proficiency in APIs, SQL, XML, JSON, web services, and integration platforms
- Demonstrable skill with Mongo, SOAP, JavaScript, CCD, IHE profiles, and XCA
- Expertise working with an interface engine, including filtering, mapping HL7 messages, and troubleshooting
- Experience managing healthcare interoperability projects, processes, and associated technologies
- Vendor-facing experience gathering requirements, analyzing needs, and creating plans
- Experience creating as-built interface configuration documentation
- Experience partnering with development teams to create, test, and deploy interfaces
- Familiarity with Agile Methodologies
- Strong understanding of data exchange principles
- Excellent analytical, design, research, testing, documentation, communication, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently, organize work, and operate with limited supervision
- Experience designing and developing healthcare IT interoperability solutions, preferably HIE or Electronic Health Record Systems
- Ability to understand data workflows and diagnose root causes or points of failure
- Ability to periodically drive to clients, conferences, and/or events; limited travel may be required
- Ability to handle sensitive PHI, PII, and financial information in compliance with applicable laws and policies
