About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Finance & Accounting team and overall financial reporting infrastructure
- Assist with financial statement preparation for all entities and financial reporting analytics
- Perform mark-to-market and fair value accounting for securitization retained assets
- Prepare and review complex accounting transactions and estimates posted to the general ledger
- Liaise with external auditors and prepare audit documentation for quarterly reviews and annual audit
- Prepare and review recurring monthly journal entries across multiple legal entities
- Support Master Trust off-balance sheet reporting and review servicer reports
- Prepare quarterly fair value, residual interest, and IBNR reserve adjustments
- Assist with quarterly investor reporting deliverables and Board Deck schedules and analyses
- Process expense allocations, monthly accruals, prepaid expense amortization, fixed asset depreciation, software capitalization, and adjusting/reclassification journal entries
- Perform account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, benefit costs, accruals, and prepaid expenses
- Streamline and automate accounting procedures by analyzing processes and recommending changes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 2-4 years public accounting experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated proficiency with P&Ls, balance sheets, and Statements of Cash Flows
- Experience with securitization, structured finance, or asset-backed (ABS) accounting is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel
- Ability to collaborate with other teams
- Interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Prior banking or financial services experience is a plus
