About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design, development, and ownership of full-stack features across React/Next.js frontends and Python backend services
  • Build scalable GraphQL APIs for internal applications and external partner integrations
  • Drive technical solutions from ambiguous requirements through implementation and production release
  • Own CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and production stability for supported services
  • Design advanced UI patterns, data visualizations, and analytics-driven workflows with product and design leaders
  • Maintain code quality through reviews, testing strategies, and refactoring initiatives
  • Evaluate and champion new technologies and best practices
  • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance
  • Influence platform architecture and long-term technical direction
  • Communicate technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development
  • Proficiency in Python and TypeScript with React/Next.js
  • Deep command of clean code, SOLID, design patterns, distributed systems, and API-first principles
  • Deep experience designing and maintaining GraphQL APIs and service-oriented architectures
  • Strong experience with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines in cloud-based architectures
  • Proven ability to design scalable systems and drive sound architectural decisions end-to-end
  • Security-conscious approach, including data integrity, access control, and SOC 2 compliance
  • Ability to articulate technical tradeoffs clearly to non-engineering stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Nice to have: familiarity with AI/ML integrations, LLM APIs, event-driven architectures, data pipelines, Apache Airflow, Neo4j, cyber risk concepts, SOC 2/ISO 27001, and experience in insurtech, MGA, fintech, regulated data-intensive industries, or early-stage startups
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
