About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Sales team to achieve individual and team sales goals
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings focused on coaching, pipeline reviews, career development, and performance
  • Set goals, evaluate outcomes, address performance issues, and hold team members accountable
  • Allocate sales team members to markets and deal opportunities
  • Optimize sales processes and qualification criteria
  • Handle personnel matters with People Operations, including onboarding, training, hiring, conflict resolution, corrective actions, and staff transitions
  • Monitor sales pipeline health and forecast accuracy
  • Remove obstacles and advance key customer opportunities
  • Ensure consistent use of CRM tools and sales processes
  • Track sales performance and report progress against goals through definitive contracting and NTP
  • Implement sales initiatives and improve team effectiveness
  • Oversee customer-facing digital, content, and sales marketing operations
  • Lead customer content generation, including project proposals and website content
  • Develop data-driven tactics, targeted campaigns, industry conference participation, and account-based marketing
  • Evaluate campaign and lead-generation performance using CRM and marketing tools
  • Drive CRM strategy and usage
  • Manage external vendors supporting content generation and marketing
  • Support corporate communications targeting investors and stakeholders
  • Strengthen Convergent’s brand positioning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Development, Procurement, Engineering, Strategy, and Analytics
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and facilitate transitions of awarded projects to execution teams
  • Communicate with senior leadership regarding team performance, priorities, and resource needs
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity
  • Share customer feedback and market insights internally
  • Represent Convergent with customers and industry partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10–15 years of progressive sales experience, preferably within the energy, infrastructure, industrial, or related B2B industries
  • 2–4 years of experience leading and developing a sales team
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and develop high-performing sales professionals
  • Experience managing sales pipelines, forecasting, and achieving sales targets
  • Excellent content generation skills, including PowerPoint fluency
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work closely with senior leadership to shape and execute company-wide initiatives
  • Alignment with Convergent’s mission and values and a strong interest in the clean energy transition
  • 20% travel expected, primarily for team events, company-wide meetings, conferences, and select customer meetings
  • Strong experience working within CRM systems like Hubspot or Salesforce
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States or Canada
  • No employment-based visa sponsorship available
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience selling complex B2B solutions (preferred)
  • Deep understanding of energy markets across North America (preferred)
