About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets based on client requirements
  • Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and external vendors to define project scope, deliverables, and milestones
  • Forecast labor, vendor, subcontractor, and other direct costs and maintain project budgets and work-in-progress
  • Create and manage project schedules, including milestone and progress payment schedules
  • Create, submit, and maintain meeting agendas, minutes, and status reports
  • Coordinate project deliverables and documentation for quality and regulatory compliance
  • Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, technicians, and subcontractors
  • Conduct subcontractor negotiations, issue and maintain purchase orders, and approve subcontractor invoices
  • Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Track progress and report key performance indicators to stakeholders
  • Submit deliverables and invoicing through RMS
  • Create monthly man-hour reports and project status updates
  • Maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, schedules, and financial records
  • Review and submit RFIs, ECPs, REAs, and service orders
  • Submit QASP, O&M manuals, cybersecurity artifacts, and other compliance documents
  • Attend and coordinate project kick-offs, site surveys, progress meetings, and quarterly site visits with clients
  • Schedule and oversee customer training and completion of sign-offs
  • Create and submit warranty letters and track warranty claims to resolution
  • Build and maintain client relationships and address concerns promptly
  • Oversee final invoicing and submission of the Record of Completion
  • Ensure submission of as-built drawings and final project documentation
  • Conduct CPAR self-assessments and complete contract closeout requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8-10+ years of project management experience in a technical environment, ideally within electronic security, fire alarm & life safety, building automation, or AV systems
  • Previous supervisory experience, including team leadership and cross-functional coordination
  • PMP Certification and/or industry-specific certifications
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and facilitation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in government contracting and financial analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project)
  • Knowledge of IT networking principles
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 25-50 pounds (accommodations available)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance (sponsored by Convergint Federal)
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to handle concurrent projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to diplomatically lead and motivate project teams
  • Prior experience with the Corps of Engineers Huntsville Center contract vehicles, especially in Electronic Security Systems and Utility Monitoring and Controls
