About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide accounting consulting services to internal and external clients, preparing guidance based on accounting standards and the characteristics of each business.
  • Analyze trial balances, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, identifying inconsistencies, significant variances, and areas requiring attention.
  • Review accounting entries, classifications, and reconciliations, verifying the accuracy of records and the composition of account balances.
  • Support and review accounting close processes, assessing the integrity of information and the need for adjustments before financial statements are delivered to clients.
  • Analyze the recognition and measurement of revenue, costs, expenses, provisions, inventory, property, plant and equipment, investments, and other balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Assess the accounting treatment of transactions in accordance with Brazilian Accounting Standards, CPC pronouncements, and international IFRS and IAS standards.
  • Prepare technical analyses and positions on accounting matters, documenting the underlying rationale, assumptions, and conclusions.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and notes to the financial statements, assessing their presentation and applicable disclosure requirements.
  • Support internal and independent audits by organizing documents, reconciliations, account balance details, and supporting evidence.
  • Analyze audit requests and findings, prepare technical explanations, and monitor adjustments and recommendations.
  • Prepare reports on clients’ results, changes in equity and assets, and impacts on their financial position.
  • Conduct analyses of liquidity, profitability, leverage, working capital, and cash generation.
  • Identify weaknesses in accounting processes and controls, propose improvements, and monitor their implementation.
  • Support the preparation and review of ancillary accounting tax filings, including ECD and the accounting impacts on ECF.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and auditors, presenting analyses and answering questions.
  • Monitor updates to accounting standards and share knowledge with internal teams.
  • Plan and track requests in internal systems, organizing priorities and communicating the risk of delays.
  • Collaborate with tax, finance, and payroll/HR administration teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure information consistency.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Experience with accounting routines, reconciliations, month-end or period-end close, and the preparation or review of financial statements.
  • Knowledge of Brazilian Accounting Standards and pronouncements issued by the Accounting Pronouncements Committee (CPC).
  • Knowledge of international accounting standards, including IFRS and IAS, with the ability to research and interpret requirements applicable to the transactions under review.
  • Ability to analyze trial balances, financial statements, and account balance details, identifying inconsistencies and required adjustments.
  • Knowledge of the recognition, measurement, presentation, and disclosure of assets, liabilities, revenue, costs, and expenses.
  • Experience supporting audits, including document preparation, analytical support, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Ability to research accounting standards and substantiate accounting guidance and conclusions.
  • Experience preparing accounting reports and analyses.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems and Excel for reconciliation, verification, and data analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting information to clients, auditors, and professionals from different areas.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing requests, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Critical thinking, attention to detail, and autonomy in investigating discrepancies and proposing solutions.
  • Preferred: experience in accounting consulting and direct client service.
  • Preferred: experience with the accounting of companies taxed under Brazil’s Actual Profit and Presumed Profit regimes.
  • Preferred: experience in independent auditing or recurring involvement in supporting audited companies.
  • Preferred: practical experience applying CPC, IFRS, and IAS to more complex transactions.
  • Preferred: experience preparing notes to the financial statements and documenting accounting judgments and estimates.
  • Preferred: knowledge of group accounting, related-party transactions, and financial statement consolidation.
  • Preferred: experience reviewing prior periods, regularizing accounting records, and reconstructing account balances.
  • Preferred: experience with ECD and integrating accounting information into ECF.
  • Preferred: knowledge of management accounting, costs, budgeting, and performance indicators.
  • Preferred: advanced Excel skills and experience with other data analysis tools.
  • Preferred: experience using technology to automate reconciliations, verifications, and reports.
  • Preferred: technical English for reading international standards and accounting documents.
  • Preferred: postgraduate degree or specialization in Accounting, Controllership, Auditing, Finance, or a related field.
