About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify, research, and map software markets to find attractive acquisition targets
  • Develop and execute prospecting campaigns through email, outbound calling, and in-person meetings
  • Communicate Jonas Software’s M&A value propositions
  • Clearly communicate the investment strategy and handle the investment process with care and professionalism
  • Research new industries, sub-sectors, and trends to identify emerging opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with software founders, owners, and decision-makers
  • Track interactions, data, and insights in Salesforce
  • Analyze outreach performance and iterate on campaigns to improve engagement rates
  • Coordinate with the M&A Execution team to advance qualified opportunities through diligence and deal execution
  • Report to the Director of Business Development and work closely with the portfolio’s senior management team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or M&A sourcing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a personable, professional phone manner
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research, develop prospect lists, and generate actionable insights
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance
  • Financial literacy and an understanding of software and technology businesses are considered assets
  • Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach.io, or Apollo is a plus
  • MBA or graduate education is a plus but not required
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to quickly understand different business models and industries
  • Ability to track details, set reminders, and maintain clean pipelines
  • Ability to work toward measurable goals, outreach KPIs, and deal progression
