About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes environments, particularly Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including cluster lifecycle, upgrades, networking, autoscaling, security, and workload management
  • Implement and maintain GitOps workflows using tools such as Argo CD or Flux, with Git as the source of truth for declarative infrastructure and application configuration
  • Containerize applications with Docker and define standards for building, scanning, and publishing images, such as through Azure Container Registry
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts to package and release applications consistently across environments
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines supporting fast, safe, repeatable software delivery with automated testing and security checks
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible
  • Design and manage Azure cloud infrastructure and services with software engineering teams, following scalability, performance, and security best practices
  • Implement observability through metrics, logs, and alerting; monitor performance, resource utilization, and cost efficiency
  • Apply security controls including RBAC, secrets management, network policies, image security, and supply-chain security
  • Define and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies for platform and stateful services
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues to ensure high availability and reliability
  • Manage Linux and Windows servers while progressively moving workloads toward automated and containerized models
  • Stay current with Azure and cloud-native ecosystem developments and recommend and implement improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience managing cloud environments, with Azure preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production, preferably AKS
  • Solid knowledge of Git and version control workflows, including branching strategies, pull requests, code review, and GitOps practices
  • Proficiency with Docker and containerization best practices
  • Experience with Helm for packaging and deploying applications
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines, such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
  • Good scripting skills, particularly PowerShell
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, cloud security, and cloud-native architecture best practices
  • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows server administration
  • Good knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Positive attitude, teamwork spirit, and excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in English: proficient reading and writing and conversational speaking
  • Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD) or Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-305) are nice-to-have
  • Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD, Flux, and Kustomize is nice-to-have
  • Experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor is nice-to-have
  • DevSecOps experience, including image scanning, policy as code, Kyverno/OPA, and Azure Policy, is nice-to-have
  • Experience managing RabbitMQ clusters is nice-to-have
  • Experience managing Redis is nice-to-have
