About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Independently manage projects of all complexity levels
Coordinate projects and optimize designs
Design and oversee high-complexity metal building system projects
Ensure compliance with structural codes, customer requirements, manufacturing standards, and company standards
Develop optimized building solutions with customers
Provide technical expertise and professional oversight for projects requiring signature and seal
Assume supervisory responsibilities in the Engineering Manager’s absence
Manage project schedules, shifting priorities, and last-minute revisions
Apply sound engineering judgment to protect public safety
Mentor and train junior and mid-level engineers
Identify design improvements and cost-reduction opportunities
Drive productivity improvements while maintaining accuracy and completeness

Requirements

What you’ll need

Licensed Professional Engineer; PE or SE licensure
Licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in metal building design or structural engineering
Proven ability to design metal buildings of medium to high complexity
Proficiency in structural design and modeling software such as RISA, STAAD, AutoCAD, or equivalent
Proficiency in all metal building system design methodologies, including advanced and highly complex framing systems, custom configurations, and non-standard structural solutions
Ability to provide sealed design documents where required
Ability to balance and prioritize multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
