About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Understand all data assets and services, their relationships, and data flows between systems
Provide architectural guidance and solutions for new business initiatives and changes to existing data models
Design, deliver, and maintain data architecture focused on standards, growth, performance, flexibility, reliability, and scalability
Design, develop, and maintain data models
Design and develop complex ETL jobs and data flows
Provide guidance to the development team and contribute to new application features
Optimize performance and improve data pipelines, ETL processes, queries, analytics tools, and other data processes
Lead data migration projects
Lead archiving and warehousing initiatives
Collaborate on data quality improvement projects
Collaborate with the security team to safeguard and secure data
Participate in quality assurance activities
Create technical documentation
Work with engineering to install, configure, and deploy SQL Server instances and database environments
Support and maintain several SQL Server environments
Troubleshoot issues and resolve incidents
May include supervisory or mentoring responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related area (data science, mathematics, statistics etc.)
10+ years in Information Technology
7+ years of experience using SQL Server
5+ years of database design, data modeling and ETL development
Experience in designing SQL Server environments
Demonstrated ability to manage and see-through long-term projects
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload effectively
Proactive working style with the ability to adapt to change
Excellent organizational and communication skills are required
Must be able to work well individually without supervision as well as part of a team
