About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for recording and reviewing accounting transactions, critically analyzing the closing of balance sheets and trial balances, reporting to the supervisor, and recommending reclassifications in accordance with applicable standards
  • Serve internal and external clients by preparing and forwarding reports, along with detailed data and information
  • Prepare and critically analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, explanatory notes, and significant variances
  • Prepare and file statutory and regulatory obligations, including ECD, for companies taxed under the presumed-profit regime and companies opting for the Simples Nacional regime
  • Prepare and submit regular and recurring reports
  • Monitor regulatory changes and analyze their applicability
  • Support internal and external audits and inspections by government authorities
  • Organize physical and digital files in accordance with records-management procedures and Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD)
  • Register corporate acts with the Commercial Registry and other competent authorities
  • Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of departmental KPIs
  • Prepare the annual budget and revisions, configuring the system and supporting managers
  • Monitor financial and economic indicators and analyze variances
  • Prepare information and materials for board of directors and executive committee meetings
  • Support forecasting and scenario development
  • Control and maintain the Revenue and Cost Center structure
  • Support company departments in classifying revenues, costs, and expenses and monitoring budget performance
  • Support the Commercial team with cost, expense, and tax information
  • Perform accounting control of fixed assets
  • Collaborate with other departments by sharing knowledge and experience
  • Provide support and perform related activities as directed by the immediate supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Experience in Accounting and Tax
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of ERP systems
  • Knowledge of Brazilian Accounting Standards (NBC)
  • Knowledge of tax legislation
  • Postgraduate degree in Accounting (preferred)
  • Experience in companies in the electric power sector (preferred)
