About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Achieve company-issued sales quota by owning renewals and upsells through full-cycle sales
  • Own upsell and expansion opportunities and deepen adoption across academic operations
  • Collaborate on custom solutions and client demos to build and cultivate 4X pipeline throughout the year
  • Travel onsite to existing clients 25–40% throughout the year
  • Learn and demonstrate Coursedog solutions to cross-functional higher-education users
  • Manage and grow relationships with multiple personas within each account
  • Own the full lifecycle of assigned institutional accounts as primary point of contact and trusted advisor
  • Understand client strategic goals, challenges, and pain points and offer tailored solutions
  • Conduct regular client check-ins, assess satisfaction, identify improvements, and provide ongoing support
  • Collaborate with Product, Implementations, Client Success, and Support on implementation, onboarding, and service delivery
  • Manage contract renewals and develop 12-month rolling forecasts
  • Negotiate with institutional procurement and finance teams
  • Monitor usage and adoption metrics and translate insights into upsell and expansion opportunities
  • Identify and resolve client issues, escalating when necessary and ensuring timely resolution
  • Stay current on industry trends, market developments, and the competitive landscape
  • Position Coursedog’s value proposition effectively with clients
  • Leverage AI tools and automation for account management workflows, data analysis, customer insights, proposal generation, forecasting, and market research

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven enterprise sales experience preferred or direct Coursedog product experience/familiarity
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas preferred
  • Experience managing a portfolio of 30+ accounts preferred
  • Higher-ed Account Management/Account Executive for Existing Customers experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of the higher education market, administrative processes, academic scheduling, curriculum management, and assessment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport, influence stakeholders from C-suite through operations staff, and negotiate effectively
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency interpreting data, metrics, and user feedback
  • Ability to identify trends and develop data-backed strategic recommendations
  • Proficiency with AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, automate routine tasks, and design scalable workflows
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and balance short-term customer needs with long-term expansion strategy
  • Ability to maintain accountability in a fast-paced, autonomous environment
