About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Welcome children and their families
- Provide daily care for children
- Support children in developing toileting skills
- Respond appropriately to families and to children’s fundamental needs, routines, development, and safety
- Promote children’s emotional security and development, individually and in groups
- Support each child in accordance with their abilities and needs
- Provide the care necessary for children’s well-being, including sleep, diaper changing, and meals
- Follow the administrative and medication protocols established by the nursery physician
- Apply hygiene and safety rules
- Attend team meetings and adjust practices where necessary
- Participate in housekeeping duties
- Prepare meals, ensure their traceability, and disinfect the premises
- Clean and maintain the premises daily, alternating with the assigned partner
- Work under the supervision of the Director of the childcare centre
- Attend a monthly meeting, occasionally until 8:00 p.m.
- Depending on the year, there may be opportunities to work in Gavray or Hambye
Requirements
What you’ll need- CAP Early Childhood qualification and/or essential experience in a nursery or working with children under three years of age
- Basic training in sign language is an advantage
- Knowledge of health protocols
- Knowledge of the centre’s educational project, protocols and technical procedures, and the hygiene and safety rules specific to the facility
- Knowledge of the training and skills of the multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of the stages of child development
- Knowledge of the different training backgrounds of interns
- Implement the centre’s educational project, protocols, technical procedures, and hygiene and safety rules
- Be able to support parents in their role
- Be able to organise developmentally appropriate activities suited to each child’s abilities
- Communicate information to the team appropriately
- Use age-appropriate language and maintain a positive attitude
- Know when to refer to professionals with specific expertise
- Work collaboratively and complementarily with the team
- Provide appropriate supervision and support to interns
- Keep skills and knowledge up to date
- Demonstrate vigilance and organisational skills
