About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide leadership for technology strategy and execution across Christ Covenant Church and Covenant Day School
  • Evaluate technology needs and recommend secure, sustainable, financially responsible solutions aligned with the mission
  • Oversee network administration and infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VPN, VLANs, internet connectivity, and related systems
  • Lead, develop, and support the technology team
  • Maintain the security, reliability, and performance of network and core technology infrastructure
  • Manage and support servers, Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Entra ID, cloud services, endpoint systems, and core technology platforms
  • Provide escalation support for complex hardware, software, network, account, and connectivity issues
  • Partner with third-party technology consulting vendors on complex support and campus security topics
  • Support instructional technology, classroom technology, educational applications, and faculty technology needs
  • Support church and school staff with escalated technology needs and administer ticketing, help desk, and remote-support tools
  • Lead campus technology projects from planning through implementation, including solution evaluation, vendor management, configuration, testing, and change communication
  • Oversee technology asset management, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, replacement, and retirement
  • Establish and maintain cybersecurity, backup, access-control, documentation, and technology-support practices
  • Coach and mentor team members and foster cross-training, shared responsibility, communication, and service
  • Attend appropriate leadership meetings
  • Respond to significant technology issues or outages and coordinate campus communication and resolution
  • Occasionally work evenings and/or weekends for outages or planned updates
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by supervisors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Mature Christian faith and commitment to the mission of Christ Covenant Church and Covenant Day School
  • Significant IT experience with strong network administration and infrastructure experience
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, group policy management, wireless networking, VPNs, firewalls, and network security
  • Experience with Windows environments, Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Entra ID, endpoint management, and cloud technology
  • Experience with Google Classroom environment
  • Strong collaborative customer service approach
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating other technology professionals
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical users
  • Collaborative, team-first leadership style and willingness to work alongside team members
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and provide calm, thoughtful leadership during significant technology issues
  • Physical ability to move across campus, including under desks and in storage and attic areas for network servicing
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed
