About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct IT application training classes for GDOT staff and adult learners
- Deliver virtual classroom training, on-site classroom training, webinars, and user group sessions
- Travel to District and Area Office locations in District 1 and District 2 for on-premise training several times per month
- Work with GDOT users to identify training needs, courses, and content
- Publish training schedules and course offerings in the Oracle/Workday Learning Management System
- Administer learner enrollments, testing, completions, grades/scoring, and certifications
- Send and review training surveys to improve training delivery and GDOT IT products
- Collaborate with GDOT business units to increase enrollment and address technical needs
- Facilitate vendor- or contractor-delivered training
- Develop, update, and maintain PowerPoint presentations, trainer guides, quick reference guides, user manuals, storyboards, videos, and computer-based training
- Engage technical staff to develop training content
- Prepare training environments and data before classes
- Establish relationships across IT, Human Resources, business units, customers, and stakeholders
- Reserve conference rooms and equipment, confirm enrollments, arrange travel, and travel safely
- Maintain professionalism and order while completing course objectives
- Maintain LMS records, timekeeping, work-activity reporting, and performance-indicator reporting
- Submit accurate expense reports and comply with travel policies and reimbursement procedures
- Participate in IT projects and support user acceptance testing, initial rollouts, and ongoing production operations
- Report to a GDOT Team Leader/Supervisor and collaborate as part of the IT Training Team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to travel to District and Area Office locations in District 1 (Gainesville) and District 2 (Tennille, Georgia) several times a month
- Ability to conduct on-premise classes and remote online classes through Microsoft Teams
- Experience or ability to deliver IT training to adult learners
- Ability to train users on desktop, web, and mobile applications
- Ability to identify training needs, courses, and content with GDOT users
- Ability to publish training schedules and course offerings in an Oracle/Workday Learning Management System
- Ability to administer learner enrollments, testing, completions, grades/scoring, and certifications
- Ability to send and review training surveys and use feedback to improve delivery and IT products
- Ability to develop, update, and maintain IT training content
- Proficiency or desired experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Scribe, TechSmith Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, and/or Articulate 360/Storyline
- Ability to complete accurate timekeeping, work-activity, performance-indicator, and other recordkeeping
- Ability to communicate effectively with learners, customers, Team Leader, IT management, and stakeholders
- Ability to plan schedules, work assignments, travel, and accommodations
- Ability to adapt and respond in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused IT environment
