About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and develop the service team through training, management, hiring, scheduling, timekeeping, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions
- Oversee daily service activities under the direction of the Dining Services Director
- Maintain established standards and support efficient, fiscally responsible, and sustainable operations
- Ensure attractive food presentation and clear communication of menu offerings
- Address customers’ special dietary needs
- Follow food safety and sanitation requirements
- Keep service areas neat and organized and ensure service equipment is functioning and properly maintained
- Implement corporate marketing initiatives
- Coordinate seasonal and event decorations
- Maintain event records and marketing summaries for the CDS home office
- Manage service supplies, decorations, and operational records
- Build positive relationships with customers, clients, staff, vendors, and the community
- Participate in Food Committee meetings
- Manage customer surveys and comment cards, respond to feedback, and recommend service improvements
- Assist with other aspects of the dining services program as needed
- Model CDS’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least three years of management and leadership experience overseeing a team of 20 or more employees
- Knowledge of food service or hospitality operations
- Strong commitment to customer service
- Strong communication, organization, and team development skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- ServSafe certification
- Positive, hands-on approach
- Ability to remain professional, cooperative, and detail oriented in a busy dining environment
- Ability to work in hot, cold, and humid dining and commercial kitchen environments
- Ability to move supplies and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
- Extended hours may be required at times
