About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the schedule, budget, and overall success of multiple concurrent energy project deployments across the implementation lifecycle from sales to commercial operation
- Manage interconnection processes across California investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, and out-of-state utilities
- Read electrical single-line diagrams and translate them into constructability discussions with engineers, contractors, AHJs, and inspectors
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and third-party contractors
- Serve as the primary customer contact throughout project execution, maintaining communication and managing expectations
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues while developing contingency plans
- Monitor project progress, track KPIs, and provide regular management updates
- Manage project budgets, approve expenditures, and support cost-effective delivery
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, safety standards, procedures, and guidelines
- Create and maintain Gantt-style schedules with dependency logic and adapt plans when field conditions change
- Track budget and schedule variance and provide clear updates to customers and management
- Partner with the Technical Program Manager to build, document, and improve scalable project processes and tools
- Run post-project reviews and feed lessons learned into future work
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and repetitive project-management work and prototype lightweight scripts or tools
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience delivering complex projects on time and within budget
- Background in commercial energy, infrastructure, or construction
- Comfort working with numbers daily and tracking budget/schedule variance in a spreadsheet or PM tool
- Experience owning technical and/or construction-related scopes in electrical construction, general construction, EV charging infrastructure, energy generation, data centers, or similarly regulated physical work
- Ability to read electrical single-line diagrams and translate them into constructability discussions in the field
- Experience creating and managing Gantt-style schedules with dependency logic and adapting plans to changing field conditions
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and drive successful project outcomes in a dynamic environment
- Experience thriving in a lean team such as a startup, small company, or sole proprietorship
- Passion for building and maintaining processes to increase efficiency and quality
- Prior use of construction or PM tracking software such as Procore, Smartsheet, Sitetracker, or Buildertrend
- Direct experience with C&I solar, BESS, EV charging, or utility interconnection
- PMP, CAPM, or equivalent is a nice-to-have
- Experience in a startup without implemented PM software or procedures is a nice-to-have
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
