About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate and manage patients with opioid use disorder in outpatient clinic settings
  • Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments as indicated by patient assessment
  • Complete medical documentation according to Crossroads standards
  • Collaborate with clinic staff to provide holistic patient care, including referrals to medical providers and community services
  • Provide injections if needed
  • Collaborate with APPs; additional stipend for supervision of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants
  • Work approximately 10 hours weekly: 6 hours in clinic one day a week and 4 hours of administrative/virtual work on other days
  • Serve as primary medical director for the Louisville OTP center

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • MD or DO with an active, unrestricted medical licensure and authorized to practice medicine in the state of Kentucky
  • Board certified in primary specialty in one of the following: Family Medicine/Family Practice, Internal Medicine, General Practice and Psychiatry
  • DEA Certificate of Registration in the state of practice with ability to schedule 2, 2N, 3, 4, & 5
  • Must have or be eligible for enrollment for Medicaid and Medicare credentials
  • Additional education or certification may be required depending on state of practice
  • BE/BC psychiatrist with at least three (3) years of experience in the provision of services to persons who have a substance use disorder OR board-certified as an addiction medicine specialist
