About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide substance abuse counseling for patients with opioid use disorder
- Deliver evidence-based medication assisted treatment (MAT) support in an outpatient, office-based clinic
- Serve patients in the Petersburg/Richmond, Virginia area
- Work Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
- Work remotely on Friday, with timing to be determined
- Manage a targeted caseload of 40–55 patients in accordance with state regulations
- Participate in training and supervision as needed for certification or licensure
- Help patients begin and sustain recovery from opioid use disorder
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must hold a Resident in Counseling, LPC, LSATP or LCSW, CSAC License in the state of Virginia
- Must have at least one year of experience as a substance abuse counselor
- No legal impediments to serving in a licensed opiate treatment program
- Must have a valid driver's license
- If recovering, three years of continuous verifiable abstinence is required
- General experience working with underserved populations in a clinical setting
- Experience treating opioid-addicted patients is preferred
- Lived addiction experience is a plus
