About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own open-to-buy planning, demand forecasting, and inventory management across multiple product categories
- Develop merchandise plans aligned with company goals, sales targets, and market trends
- Manage Open-to-Buy meetings and monthly reviews with senior leadership
- Forecast demand using historical data, market trends, and customer insights
- Determine sales projections, inventory needs, and replenishment strategies
- Monitor inventory levels and sell-through rates
- Recommend actions to optimize on-order quantities, sales, and inventory turnover while minimizing stock-outs and overstock
- Conduct financial analysis of sales performance, margin trends, and product profitability
- Manage the financial success of assigned divisions by meeting sales, margin, and inventory turn goals
- Ensure accurate, efficient, and standardized reporting deliverables
- Analyze business data and present actionable insights to cross-functional stakeholders
- Partner with merchandising, finance, and operations teams
- Report to the Planning Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of assortment, demand, or merchandise planning experience, including 2+ years in a retail ecommerce environment
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional aptitude for numbers and retail math
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs or more advanced functionality
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships and influence key stakeholders
- Demonstrated daily use of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, or similar for real work
- Ability to evaluate AI outputs critically and identify when AI is appropriate
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and organize and prioritize workload under pressure
