About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the product vision, roadmap, and execution for Backcountry’s services business, including discovery, scheduling, pricing, payment, status updates, and post-service follow-up
- Build the attach path so customers purchasing skis, bikes, or boards are offered relevant services online, in the app, and in stores
- Treat appointment availability, technician capacity, turnaround times, and capacity visibility as product problems
- Partner with shop teams, technicians, and mobile service operations to ensure services sold online are delivered on time and at quality
- Expand services into new categories, markets, and delivery models with scalable product experiences
- Define the services funnel, metrics, and growth levers
- Own the Backcountry app roadmap, including retention, engagement, app-exclusive experiences, notifications, lifecycle messaging, and release cadence
- Grow the app into a channel that drives incremental revenue
- Work with the app platform partner and engineering to ship quickly while maintaining quality and store review standing
- Define success metrics, instrument initiatives, and use experimentation and data to prioritize work
- Partner with engineering, design, merchandising, marketing, analytics, retail, and operations to turn business goals into shipped products
- Report to the Vice President of Product and UX
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5+ years of product management experience
- Experience with a product tied to real-world operations, such as services, bookings, scheduling, appointments, fulfillment, or a marketplace with supply constraints
- Experience owning a consumer mobile app or commerce product with a meaningful mobile surface
- Familiarity with retention and engagement metrics and app release cycles
- Demonstrated revenue or conversion impact with measurable results
- Strong analytical and experimentation skills
- Experience using GA4, Looker, SQL, or similar tools
- Ability to ship iteratively through rapid release cycles
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders, including field and shop teams
