About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor import, export, and other foreign trade processes
- Coordinate supplier payments and customs clearance activities with the Finance department
- Keep process follow-ups up to date and make them available to relevant departments
- Analyze and classify products according to the NCM (Mercosur Common Nomenclature)
- Monitor supplier lead times and take action to ensure deadlines are met
- Follow up on import licenses with customs brokers and regulatory authorities
- Issue inbound invoices for import processes
- Develop new service providers
- Support other departments on foreign trade matters
- Manage and monitor department KPIs
- Conduct import follow-up meetings
- Monitor monthly financial forecasts and foreign exchange closings
- Advise the immediate manager
- Analyze foreign trade operating costs, including tariffs, customs duties, international transportation, insurance, and foreign exchange
- Conduct cost scenario simulations
- Monitor the finalization of the import factor and international insurance
- Compare actual costs with budgeted amounts, identify variances, and investigate their causes
- Prepare reports and implement improvement and corrective actions
- Compare and update supplier prices
- Prepare detailed reports and analyses on foreign trade costs
- Identify cost reduction and operational efficiency opportunities, proposing and implementing improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Trade, International Relations, or a related field
- Additional courses in the field
- Knowledge of import and export processes
- Knowledge of NCM (Mercosur Common Nomenclature)
- Diligence, agility, ethics, resilience, communication, collaboration, analytical skills, and a systemic perspective
