About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of cloud network engineers, including performance management, scheduling, and career development
  • Assign and prioritize project work, incident response, and on-call rotations
  • Conduct 1:1s and performance reviews
  • Support hiring and onboarding of team members
  • Design and oversee implementation of secure, scalable network architectures primarily in Azure
  • Manage hybrid connectivity solutions including VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, and SD-WAN
  • Own network segmentation, routing, DNS, and firewall policy design in cloud environments
  • Ensure high availability and performance of cloud network infrastructure
  • Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for network outages
  • Establish and monitor SLAs/SLOs for network performance and uptime
  • Drive automation of network provisioning and configuration management
  • Drive Elastic Observability implementation
  • Partner with security teams to enforce network security best practices
  • Ensure compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS as applicable
  • Support audits and vulnerability remediation related to network infrastructure
  • Work closely with Cloud, DevOps, Security, and application teams
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex network issues
  • Communicate network strategy, risks, and roadmap to IT leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a related field
  • Significant experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale cloud and hybrid network environments
  • 2+ years of experience leading, supervising, or mentoring network engineering teams
  • Experience with performance management, work prioritization, and technical development
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, peering, routing, load balancing, network security groups, Azure Firewall, and DNS
  • Experience designing and managing hybrid cloud connectivity, including VPN, ExpressRoute, SD-WAN, and cloud-to-on-premises connectivity
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, network segmentation, VPNs, and load balancing
  • Experience with network security and zero-trust principles, including segmentation, encryption, firewall policy, identity-based access, and vulnerability remediation
  • Experience with network automation and infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies
  • Experience with network monitoring and observability, including Elastic Observability, Azure Monitor, or comparable platforms
  • Experience leading incident response, troubleshooting complex network issues, performing root-cause analysis, and driving remediation in high-availability environments
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Cloud, DevOps, Security, and application teams
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in environments subject to SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
