About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, specify and provide technical direction for new or existing information systems applications
- Serve as principal application designer for major modifications
- Complete and oversee systems analysis, design and development for basic to complex systems
- Contribute as an individual contributor on complex projects
- Direct and monitor less experienced resources and coordinate development tasks
- Prepare and manage technical components of project plans
- Collaborate with Development, Operations and Technology staff from technical analysis through user acceptance testing
- Prepare and review test data, execute detailed test plans and perform debugging
- Evaluate relationships among programs, interfacing applications and platforms
- Provide analytical consulting and leadership on information technology solutions
- Prepare technical and functional specifications and update systems documentation
- Prepare assessments, task estimates, timelines and effort estimates
- Maintain efficient operation and effectiveness of supported applications
- Recommend technologies, policies and processes and participate in vendor software evaluations
- Promote development standards and procedures
- Maintain understanding of supported business functions, processes and strategic direction
- Assist with expense and capital budgets
- Adhere to risk, regulatory and internal control standards and escalate risk issues
- Implement audit and regulatory action points
- Complete related duties, including due diligence, cost/benefit analysis or business studies
- Work under the Technology Team Lead and provide backup to higher management as required
- Interact with senior management, technology personnel, clients and vendors
- Serve as a technical representative on committees and ad-hoc projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of an Associates degree and 5 years systems analysis/application development experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years systems analysis/application development experience
- Familiar with application development software and hardware platforms
- Proficiency with personal computers, project management, word processing and spreadsheet software
- Capable of working on multiple projects of a complex nature
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with prior experience presenting to the target audience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Detail-oriented
- Strong lateral thinking skills
- Experience coordinating between Applications and business units
- Experience recommending and implementing systems solutions
- Experience driving project milestones and delivery dates
- Good understanding of the Bank's application framework
- Subject matter expertise in the business and knowledge or experience utilizing the supported application/system
- Advanced understanding of supported applications and interfacing/integrated applications
- Ability to work in a team environment and autonomously
- Ability to multitask across components of complex projects
- Advanced knowledge of the entire system for projects outside normal business-as-usual activities
