About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work with Technology management, customers, and support teams to lead the design, development, and execution of technical solutions
Design infrastructure architecture and systems
Research and develop new or expanded systems
Create technology standards and policies
Analyze user requirements and operational constraints
Perform unit testing, system integration, and user acceptance testing
Interact with business partners to clarify problems or opportunities and elicit business requirements
Estimate effort for complex, moderate- to large-scale projects
Coordinate vendor interactions and manage contract/vendor resources
Mentor and coach less experienced engineers, technicians, and integrators
Review documentation, proposals, and changes from less experienced staff
Maintain knowledge of Financial Services trends, practices, technologies, vendor products, services, and updates
Follow and promote industry best practices, standards, and procedures
Maintain expert technical aptitude and knowledge of supported applications, development environments, and client environments
Assist with expense and capital budgets
Adhere to company risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls; escalate risk issues
Promote diversity and the Bank brand
Maintain internal control standards and implement audit and regulatory action items
Complete other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Contract employment
Combined minimum of 12 years higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management, and/or architecture
Thorough understanding of the system development and infrastructure lifecycle and architecture, vendor best practices, IT Service Management, and systems design
Minimum 12 years advanced experience in a technical engineering position involving infrastructure design technologies, data management and interchange, system design and/or development for complex applications
Ability to translate complex business and functional requirements into structured high quality implementations using industry-standard approaches
Demonstrated ability to develop alternative solutions to complex problems and recommend the best solution
Advanced technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Verifiable industry and/or vendor expertise in relevant technologies
Ability to gather, document, and analyze system specifications and requirements
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Effective facilitation skills to elicit and review requirements from diverse stakeholders
Understanding of how people, processes, and technology interact to create feasible solutions on medium- to high-complexity projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective influencing skills
Process-oriented and logical thinker
Strong knowledge of server/client and virtual technologies
Ability to master complex tasks with minimal supervision
Experience with project estimation and budget/planning activities
Adaptable and able to learn quickly in a rapid-paced environment
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is preferred
