About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Complete and oversee complex systems analysis, design, and development efforts
  • Lead and contribute as an individual contributor on complex projects
  • Provide analytical consulting and technology leadership to support client and Bank business objectives
  • Direct and monitor less experienced resources and coordinate development tasks
  • Prepare and manage technical components of project plans
  • Confer with Development, Operations, and Technology staff on systems development from technical analysis through user acceptance testing
  • Prepare and review test data, execute detailed test plans, and perform debugging
  • Evaluate complex interrelationships among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms
  • Prepare and review technical and functional specifications and systems documentation
  • Prepare charts, tables, and diagrams to analyze problems
  • Prepare and review project assessments, task estimates, time frames, and effort requirements
  • Maintain efficient operation and effectiveness of supported applications
  • Recommend technologies, policies, and processes and lead or participate in vendor software evaluations
  • Follow and promote development standards and procedures
  • Assist with expense and capital budgets
  • Monitor employee performance and may prepare annual appraisals
  • Adhere to risk, regulatory, and internal control standards and escalate risk-related issues
  • Promote diversity and the Bank brand
  • Implement internal and external audit points and address regulator-raised issues
  • Complete related duties, including potential leadership in due diligence, cost/benefit analysis, or business studies
  • Work independently on high-level systems analysis and technical development phases
  • Manage activities of others and lead project activities
  • Monitor staff performance and develop less experienced staff
  • Interact with senior management, technology personnel, clients, and vendors
  • Provide backup to higher management and serve as a technical representative on committees or ad-hoc projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of an Associates degree and 6 years systems analysis/application development experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 8 years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 6 years systems analysis/application development experience
  • Familiar with application development software and hardware platforms
  • Proficiency with personal computers, pertinent project management software, word processing software, and spreadsheet software
  • Capable of working on multiple projects of a complex nature
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with prior experience presenting to the target audience
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong lateral thinking skills
  • Experience coordinating between Applications and business units
  • Experience recommending and implementing system solutions
  • Experience driving project milestones and delivery dates
  • Proven mentoring and leadership capabilities from a project management perspective
  • Good understanding of the Bank's application framework
  • Subject matter expertise in the business with knowledge or experience utilizing the supported application/system
  • Advanced knowledge of supported applications and interfacing/integrated applications
