About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete and oversee complex systems analysis, design, and development efforts
- Lead and contribute to complex projects
- Provide analytical consulting and technology leadership to support client and Bank objectives
- Direct and monitor less experienced resources and coordinate development tasks
- Prepare and manage technical components of project plans
- Confer with Development, Operations, and Technology staff from technical analysis through user acceptance testing
- Prepare and review test data, execute detailed test plans, and complete debugging
- Evaluate complex relationships among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms
- Prepare and review technical and functional specifications and systems documentation
- Prepare charts, tables, and diagrams to analyze problems
- Prepare and review project assessments, task requirements, timeframes, and effort estimates
- Maintain efficient operation and effectiveness of supported applications
- Recommend technologies, policies, and processes and participate in vendor software evaluations
- Follow and promote development standards and procedures
- Maintain expert knowledge of supported applications, development environments, and client environments
- Assist with expense and capital budgets
- Monitor employee performance and potentially prepare annual appraisals
- Adhere to risk, regulatory, and internal control standards and escalate risk issues
- Promote diversity and the Bank brand
- Implement internal and external audit points and address regulator issues as applicable
- Perform related duties, including due diligence, cost/benefit analysis, and business studies
- Work independently on high-level systems analysis and technical development phases
- Manage activities of others, lead project activities, mentor less experienced staff, and interact with senior management, technology personnel, clients, and vendors
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of an Associates degree and 6 years systems analysis/application development experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 8 years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 6 years systems analysis/application development experience
- Familiar with application development software and hardware platforms
- Proficiency with personal computers, pertinent project management software, word processing software, and spreadsheet software
- Capable of working on multiple projects of a complex nature
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with prior experience presenting to the target audience
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Detail-oriented
- Strong lateral thinking skills
- Experience coordinating between Applications and business units
- Experience recommending and implementing system solutions
- Experience driving project milestones and delivery dates
- Proven mentoring and leadership capabilities from a project management perspective
- Good understanding of the Bank's application framework
- Subject matter expertise in the business with knowledge or experience utilizing the supported application/system
- Advanced knowledge of interfacing/integrated applications
- Ability to work in a team environment and autonomously
- Ability to multitask across components of complex projects
- Mastered knowledge of the entire system to work on projects outside normal business-as-usual activities
