About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with the President of the approximately $800M Transportation Systems division to deliver growth, improved profitability and cash flow, and return on deployed capital
- Drive the financial performance of Transportation Systems while ensuring proper financial controls
- Develop the annual operating and strategic plan as a member of the CTS Senior Leadership Team
- Hire, develop and retain a high-performance global finance team
- Drive employee engagement, identify and mentor future successors, and build financial acumen across the business
- Influence pricing and bid financials
- Drive large-scale transformation projects
- Drive large infrastructure project performance and controls, including earned value practices and metrics
- Reduce the cost to deploy and maintain large transportation system projects
- Implement processes and policies to maximize cash return
- Execute business planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis
- Provide analysis-based business insights and influence organizational action
- Make business capital allocation decisions involving CAPEX, R&D and other investments
- Interact regularly with executive management, sponsors and lenders, including influencing executives in sensitive situations
- Develop and maintain understanding of strategic business needs and contribute to their development
- Identify key financial trends, communicate impacts and develop solutions
- Ensure financial management systems and policies conform with US GAAP and produce accurate financial statements
- Support due diligence and lead integration for new acquisitions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Four-year college degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least fifteen years of progressive finance and project accounting experience
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience with general ledger, P&L and Balance Sheet
- Experience leading teams of at least 10 reports for 5 years
- Strong global people leadership skills with a track record of hiring, retaining, and developing global top talent
- Ability to identify, summarize and extract key issues from complex contractual arrangements
- Ability to build strong partnerships with colleagues, customers and suppliers
- Entrepreneurial approach to the business and continuous identification of improvement opportunities
- Ability to communicate a vision and business strategy and formulate plans to achieve it
- Ability to identify areas of under-performance and agree plans to rectify
- Self-motivated, pragmatic, influential and able to work independently
