Design scalable, reliable system architectures by defining component structures, allocating functionality, and establishing effective interfaces between systems and applications
Develop and recommend optimized technical solutions by evaluating design options, conducting cost-benefit analyses, and aligning outcomes with business and technology requirements
Champion enterprise architecture standards and approved technology stacks, design patterns, and best practices
Create and maintain global reference architectures promoting consistency, standardization, and reusable technology building blocks
Drive architectural improvements and translate technical strategy into practical, business-focused technology solutions
Partner with business stakeholders, customers, and technical teams to deliver innovative solutions maximizing business value and user adoption
Evaluate emerging technologies, software trends, and tools while leading pilot programs and proof-of-concept initiatives
Assess infrastructure capacity and future technology needs and provide strategic recommendations
Define and develop architecture deliverables, artifacts, and building blocks using an architecture development framework and methodology
Create solution designs with instrumentation, measurement, version control, and build and test automation
Analyze solution functional fit against business, technical, security, governance, and compliance requirements
Create solution designs and patterns using the Cummins Technical Reference Model, CLEAN standards, and existing reference patterns
Identify, assess, prioritize, and manage project issues and risks
Balance stakeholder needs, collaborate across teams, communicate effectively, make timely decisions, persuade stakeholders, and support change management

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of total professional experience in software development, application engineering, or related technical roles
Prior hands-on experience as a Software Developer and/or Technical Lead
Complex Application Solution Design utilizing technologies like Java, Angular, Kubernetes, .Net, and PhP
Architecture development framework and methodology to design systems landscapes and interactions within the enterprise
Experience utilizing Mulesoft, Azure APIM, Azure Data Factory, and related technologies
Deep knowledge of DevSecOps tools including GitHub Actions, Copado, SonarQube, and Veracode
College, university, or equivalent degree in a relevant technical discipline, or relevant equivalent experience
6+ years of experience in solution or system architecture in large, complex organizations
Demonstrated architecture and design experience
Strong knowledge of modern architectural patterns, cloud platforms, and integration technologies
May require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
