About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Grow the business by increasing the company’s services and product offerings
- Evaluate, recommend, and manage strategic business opportunities, initiatives, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures
- Lead planning, design, due diligence, and implementation of strategic business activities and initiatives
- Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to support business growth
- Identify new business opportunities and develop new OEM alliances
- Develop and expand new accounts and opportunities
- Identify businesses within the market for strategic acquisition
- Conduct multi-level and cross-division sales efforts and build external and internal relationships
- Perform internal and external business development focused on new markets and products
- Maintain close contact with top-echelon customers in domestic and international government markets through onsite client-facing visits
- Travel within the United States, Pacific Rim, and Atlantic Rim
- Monitor customer and market trends, technology developments, potential clients, and competitors
- Advise management on market conditions and strategies and prepare business cases and ROI recommendations
- Support M&A research, assessment, and diligence
- Implement sales and growth initiatives and interpret effects on sales strategies, operating profit, and customer satisfaction
- Develop alliance agreements, NDAs, contractual documents, master service agreements, small business plans, and mutual terms and conditions
- Attend conferences, tradeshows, and external meetings to develop alliances and acquisitions
- Deliver presentations to key clients with business development representatives and account executives
- Participate in continuous-improvement initiatives
- Support projects and initiatives within service center locations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be US Citizen and able to obtain DOD security clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in a technical field), or minimum of 10 years’ experience in industrial sales and repairs or equivalent highly preferred
- Strong existing network within the Naval community and a deep understanding of the sector
- Ability to gather high-quality intelligence, interpret information and create appropriate action plans
- Strong oral and written communication skills with knowledge of MS Office
- Strong sales and presentation skills
- Background in engineering, sales, or marketing in similar or related products
- Technical sales experience preferred
- Excellent relationship management skills and commitment to customer satisfaction with a proven track record in year-over-year sales growth
- Experience utilizing and managing CRM systems such as Salesforce
