About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as the primary point of contact for leading and managing projects executed by mission-critical suppliers
- Ensure alignment on technical scope, schedule, cost, quality and regulatory compliance
- Drive supplier performance to improve on-time delivery and manufacturing efficiency
- Own end-to-end project execution for programs delivered through critical suppliers
- Collaborate with Design Engineering, Sourcing, Supplier Quality Engineering and Project Management teams
- Assist with identification of critical suppliers
- Manage day-to-day production schedules and on-time delivery execution with critical suppliers
- Develop critical suppliers and resolve vulnerability issues
- Build supplier relationships to improve risk management, communication, delivery performance, capability, yield and throughput
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans covering scope, schedule, cost, risk and deliverables
- Track supplier performance against contractual milestones
- Prioritize critical supplier schedules, milestones and deliverables
- Assess critical supplier capacity
- Facilitate technical reviews, production/first article readiness reviews, PFMEA, control plans, process audits and on-site oversight
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for missed deliverables
- Align supplier documentation submittals, source inspections, audits, and regulatory or customer visits with purchase order and internal customer expectations
- Perform and support nonconformance dispositioning
- Drive cross-functional supplier process improvements with design engineering, quality, supply chain and program teams
- Travel as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management and/or equivalent experience in a supplier management Lead role
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering Management, Management or Project Management a plus
- A minimum of five (5) years of project management experience
- Prior experience working on-site with suppliers highly desired
- Project scheduling, prioritization and organization skills
- Experience in commercial nuclear, defense, aerospace, energy, or similarly regulated industries
- Working knowledge of quality systems within the commercial nuclear (i.e., 10CFR50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1) or defense industry (i.e., ISO-9001, MIL-I-45208) is a plus
- Excellent relationship building, communication (written and oral) and presentation skills
- Green or Black Belt Lean Certification a plus
- Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
- Willingness and ability to travel (50% local, domestic or international as required)
