About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform preventive maintenance and repair work orders for facility mechanical, electrical, lighting, and installed systems
- Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC systems, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interiors/exteriors, and related grounds
- Inspect assigned facilities and report conditions affecting client occupancy and operations
- Respond to emergencies, including possible light travel during emergency events
- Operate, maintain, and repair boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, and steam or heated/processed-water distribution lines
- Maintain stock and inventory control
- Recommend improvements to preventive maintenance programs
- Compile and submit monthly reports on building operations to management
- Learn and properly operate building automation, fire/life safety, and other building-related systems
- Identify safety hazards and propose corrective methods or use appropriate PPE
- Comply with applicable codes, regulations, governmental requirements, company directives, and safety practices
- Complete required C&W Safety Training annually
- Comply with the C&W Uniform Dress Code and maintain a neat appearance
- Support client building activities during assigned shifts, after-hours, weekends, and emergency situations
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required
- Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in all aspects of building engineering
- Strong background in HVAC equipment and systems, plumbing, electrical, equipment repair and maintenance, and overall system design and application
- Valid state driver’s license
- Location-appropriate trade license/permit as may be required
- Valid “Universal” level certification for CFC and HFC-based refrigerants (EPA Section 608)
- Experience operating, maintaining, and performing basic repairs on HVAC, boilers, heaters, pumps, refrigerant systems, compressors, gas lines, and water systems
- Knowledge of energy management systems, techniques, and operations
- Thorough knowledge of building systems operations, maintenance, and repair
- Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Proficiency using smartphones and/or iPad/tablets, uploading PDF files and documents
- Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems
- Ability to wear required PPE
- Ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift at least 50 lbs., and safely install rigging/lifting devices
- Must be willing and able to support after-hours/weekend activity, shift work, on-call duties, overtime, and emergency callbacks
- Legal documentation establishing identity and eligibility to be legally employed in the US/United States Citizenship
- Successful drug testing, criminal background check, clean DMV record, education verification, and reference checks
