About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and mentor a team of design professionals on design projects from initial sketch through start of construction
  • Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, standards, project complexity, and resource allocation
  • Support Project Designers in quality review of design deliverables
  • Communicate and implement new processes and design standards
  • Review preliminary space plans and design concepts for safety, functionality, aesthetics, public health, safety, and applicable code compliance
  • Review furniture, fixtures, equipment, and millwork selections and specifications, including layout drawings and detailed product descriptions
  • Provide ongoing team training on space planning, design, program management, and FF&E services
  • Develop client workplace standards and recommend improvements
  • Apply knowledge of space planning, interior building materials and finishes, casework, furniture, furnishings and equipment, lighting, acoustics, wayfinding, ergonomics, anthropometrics, and human environmental behavior
  • Perform conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and construction documentation independently or with minor oversight
  • Oversee and help direct third-party relationships with architects, engineers, and others
  • Provide extensive knowledge of FF&E vendors and resources to the team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from a CIDA or NAAB accredited institution in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • 4+ years of professional design experience
  • 4+ years of Revit experience in a professional setting
  • Proficiency in architectural drawings, concepts & design
  • Excellent time management, communication, collaboration, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to lead a team effort and delegate work to team members
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external partners
  • Ability to understand, document, and confirm client and stakeholder goals and objectives
  • Ability to collect data through programming, surveys, focus groups, charrette exercises, and benchmarking
