About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Secure the end-to-end machine-learning lifecycle against data poisoning and model-weight theft
Design and deploy prompt-injection defenses and runtime firewalls for LLM interfaces
Implement AI Security Posture Management to monitor and catalog self-hosted models, training datasets, and proprietary endpoints
Integrate automated security guardrails into CI/CD workflows, including secret scanning, API exposure checks, and software composition analysis
Codify security policies with Infrastructure as Code and ensure cloud resources comply with standards such as GDPR and SOC2
Manage secrets and vulnerability patching for Docker and Kubernetes environments
Design least-privilege IAM controls to isolate sensitive training data and research workloads
Lead incident response by monitoring production logs and collaborating with AI Researchers on rapid fixes
Provide local IDE security scanning tools and pre-commit hooks
Educate AI, chemistry, and engineering teams and cultivate shared security responsibility
Translate security requirements into practical workflows with researchers, chemists, and engineers
Help protect CuspAI’s proprietary materials-discovery platform, frontier models, research data, and intellectual property

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of experience in a DevSecOps, Cloud Security, or Site Reliability Engineering role
Experience preferably within a fast-paced startup or AI-centric company
Proven experience building and securing CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform or Pulumi
Experience securing cloud environments using AWS, GCP, or Azure
Deep understanding of container security and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes
Practical knowledge of security frameworks and implementing them without slowing development cycles
Motivation to use AI for planetary-scale impact and understanding of securing deep-tech intellectual property
Direct experience with AI-specific security tools or OWASP Top 10 for LLMs is a bonus
Experience with AI Security Posture Management tools is a bonus
AWS Certified Security, CSEP, or OSCP certification is a bonus
Background or personal interest in materials science, chemistry, or AI and physical sciences is a bonus
Existing right to work or willingness to obtain a visa for the selected location
